Welcome to Shorta! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Shorta streaming platform, including our mobile applications, website, and any related services (collectively, the “Platform”). By accessing or using Shorta, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Overview
Shorta is an on-demand streaming platform for short-form audiovisual content, optimized for mobile consumption. The Platform allows users (“Users”) to watch scripted series and other audiovisual content (“Content”) through different access models, including free ad-supported viewing, subscriptions, and virtual currency (“Tickets”).
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, to use Shorta.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activity performed through it.
Shorta may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable laws.
3. Access Models
Shorta offers multiple ways to access Content:
- Free, ad-supported viewing, where certain Content may include advertising
- Subscription access, which unlocks additional Content or features for a recurring fee
- Tickets, a virtual currency that may be used to unlock specific Content or experiences
The availability of Content may vary by region, time, or access model. Shorta does not guarantee permanent availability of any specific Content.
4. Subscriptions
Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis through the applicable app store or payment provider.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account or the relevant app store. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.
Subscription fees are non-refundable, except where required by law.
5. Tickets and Virtual Currency
Tickets are virtual, non-transferable units that may be used within the Platform to unlock Content.
Tickets:
- Have no monetary value outside Shorta
- Are not redeemable for cash
- Are non-refundable, except where required by law
Unused Tickets do not expire unless otherwise stated by Shorta.
6. Ads and Sponsored Content
Some Content on Shorta may include advertisements, sponsored content, or branded integrations.
By using the Platform, you agree to receive such advertising as part of your viewing experience, where applicable.
7. Content Availability and Changes
Shorta may add, remove, modify, or reorganize Content at any time.
Shorta does not guarantee that any Content will remain available indefinitely, even if previously unlocked through Tickets or subscriptions.
8. Intellectual Property
All Content and Platform elements are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Shorta and its licensors retain all rights to the Content and Platform.
Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to stream Content for personal, non-commercial use only.
Users may not copy, distribute, record, reproduce, or exploit Content outside the Platform.
9. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for unlawful or abusive purposes
- Attempt to bypass paywalls, ads, or access controls
- Share accounts or resell access
- Interfere with the Platform’s operation or security
Shorta may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
10. Platform Modifications and Termination
Shorta may update or modify the Platform, pricing, access models, or features at any time.
We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform.
You may stop using Shorta at any time. Shorta may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms.
11. Disclaimers
The Platform and Content are provided “as is” and “as available.”
Shorta makes no warranties regarding uninterrupted service, Content availability, or suitability for any purpose.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shorta shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Shorta’s total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you to Shorta in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
